You should water your lawn and garden early in the morning to avoid midday heat and evaporation. Don't over-water, and be sure to keep the water off of the sidewalk or street.

Make sure to fix any dripping faucets in your home. A dripping faucet can waste up to 2,000 gallons of water per year.
